A cooperative founded by eighteen women in 2007, the Nyamirambo Women’s Centre runs Kigali’s most beloved community tourism experiences — and reinvests every franc into training, literacy classes, and fair-wage work for local women.
The famous walking tour takes visitors through Nyamirambo’s markets, mosques, hair salons, and family kitchens. It is honest, warm, and never staged.
The centre’s craft studio produces baskets, kitenge bags, and jewellery sold on-site and online, with makers paid per piece.
